  3.     President Aquino's decision to request American military
  4. aid during the recent attempted coup was not made in a moment
  5. of panic (WORLD, Dec. 11). It was arrived at after calm
  6. deliberation and evaluation. The government and people of the
  7. Philippines will always be grateful for America's help and
  8. recognize it as a fine display of commitment to democracy.
  9. However, honor and credit should be given to the loyal
  10. Philippine officers and troops who bore the brunt of crushing
  11. the coup. U.S. assistance was availed of only as it was needed.

  16.     So the mighty U.S. displayed its power again. The
  17. corruption of the Aquino government and the discontent of the
  18. Filipino people will result in another rebellion. Americans,
  19. give us a break and mind your own business.
